Scholarship Appeals

Institutional Scholarship Appeals

The Institutional Scholarship Appeals Committee meets as needed to consider appeals for University-funded academic scholarships.  This committee does not consider appeals for University-funded athletic or performance scholarships or appeals for Federal or State-funded financial aid.  Appeals concerning ATU University Honors stipends should be sent to the Director of the University Honors Program for consideration by the University Honors Council.

Types of Appeals

-Exception for hour requirement
-Exception for grade point average & hour requirement
-Exception for non-enrollment/withdrawal from all classes

When applicable, students should attempt to make up deficiencies and/or use the Summer Earn Back Program to retain scholarship eligibility.  When students do not attempt to earn back the scholarship, the reason for not doing so should be included in the appeal.  The scholarship must be lost before a reinstatement will be considered.

Students must be eligible for the scholarship for a deferment to be considered.

Appeals for deferments must be submitted prior to the semester the student will not enroll.

Appeals received after the deadline may be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Submit Your Appeal

For consideration, students should complete the online Scholarship Appeals form.

Submitting an appeal does not guarantee a reinstatement/deferment.  The committee’s decision will be sent to your official ATU email address.
