Title IX was passed as part of the Education Amendments of 1972. This federal civil rights law prohibits discrimination based on sex in education programs and activities that receive federal financial assistance. Title IX states:
“No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any educational program or activity receiving federal financial assistance.”
The Title IX Office supports the M6 mission of student success, access, and excellence by cultivating a responsive campus community through education of federal laws and approaches to identify, prevent, and report discrimination, sexual misconduct, and retaliation. Title IX staff strive to conduct fair and equitable inquiries and investigations and implement stop, prevent, and remedy measures, including connecting those affected with campus and community resources. M6 is committed to fostering a safe and caring environment free from sexual and gender-based discrimination where students, faculty, and staff have the opportunity to succeed in their educational and professional pursuits.
Consistent with University values and Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972, M6 prohibits discrimination against students, faculty, and staff based on sex in any of its programs or activities. Harass
